Snow bursts roll in overnight, cloudy skies to start Thursday

PITTSBURGH — Watch for quick bursts of snow this evening as temperatures fall closer to freezing. Snow could amount to a few more inches over the mountains through tonight with generally less than an inch elsewhere as temperatures fall into the 20s overnight.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy and chilly with highs around 30 degrees. A weak clipper system will bring us a period of light snow Friday morning. While not a lot of snow, the issue is the timing with an inch or two possible right as the morning commute gets going.

The weekend will be cold with wind chills as low as the single digits. A more significant storm could be a player in our weather late Sunday night/early next Monday. While still several days out, there is higher confidence that we’ll see at least some snow, with heavier amounts possible closer to the Mason-Dixon.
