PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh registered over two inches of rain Thursday, setting a new record rainfall for the date. Unfortunately, more scattered storms are on tap today, with the main timeline coming early this afternoon.

The highest risk for damaging winds will be roughly from Pittsburgh points south, though it won’t take much additional rain to cause more flash flooding in the city. Friday night football plans should be in decent shape with just a few showers possible south and west of the city.
We may see one last round of rain and storms graze past the area late tonight and early Saturday; otherwise, we’ll start to feel some drier air push in Saturday afternoon with highs a little closer to average.
Sunshine, low humidity and comfortable nights will be the theme going into early next week and Labor Day, with highs each day around 80 degrees.
