PENN HILLS, Pa. — An investigation into a suspicious package shut down part of a busy Penn Hills roadway on Sunday.
Penn Hills Police Department and the Allegheny County Police Department’s bomb squad both responded to the 12000 block of Frankstown Avenue.
A former Penn Hills government official tells Channel 11 that the investigation is for a suspicious package placed in the foyer of a business near the intersection of Frankstown Avenue and Orchard Drive.
The official says the business was open at the time the package was left and the incident was captured on surveillance cameras.
Frankstown Avenue has since reopened, and police have left the area.
