SEWICKLEY HEIGHTS, Pa. — Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin’s house was broken into over the weekend, the team said.
The Penguins played back-to-back games at PPG Paints Arena this past weekend, going against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday.
The team confirmed to Channel 11 that the burglary happened during Saturday’s game.
Evgeni Malkin’s home in the Pittsburgh suburbs was burglarized during Saturday’s game at PPG Paints Arena, the Penguins confirmed to @WPXI.

Malkin missed both games with an upper body injury.
The burglary comes after a string of similar incidents across multiple professional sports leagues. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce had their homes burglarized while they were playing away from their home city, as well as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Dallas Mavericks player Luka Doncic, Milwaukee Bucks star Bobby Portis and Minnesota Timberwolves player Mike Conley Jr. ESPN also reports Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin had his home burglarized in November 2024.
