Neighbors tell Channel 11 that three adults and a dog live at the home.

The dog made it out safely. Two of the adults weren’t home at the time but their adult son was.

He had to be rescued.

“There were a couple of neighbors trying to pull the person out of the back door,” McCandless Assistantt. Fire Chief Jim Vicheck said.

Those neighbors were able to pull him out. He was taken to UPMC Mercy by ambulance. A family member on scene told Channel 11 he is in stable condition.

A number of departments responded to the blaze. Much of the attack was done from the inside out. We did see a number of firefighters on the roof as flames occasionally shot through it.

There was significant damage to the home. It’s unclear if it can be saved. That same family member told us it was too soon to tell.

The Fire Marshal is investigating.
