PITTSBURGH — An unusual end to January with widespread fog and areas of heavy showers and thunderstorms. The more widespread rain will be this afternoon before breaking up into just a few showers this evening. Have the rain gear handy but the rain won’t be as consistent or heavy.

Rain could end as a few wet flakes later tonight, but it won’t last long as dry air moves in overnight. Temperatures Saturday will stay in the 30s but we should see plenty of sun by the afternoon, making it a decent early February day.
Another round of warm air will come Sunday, although with more clouds. Temperatures should reach the 50s again Monday before a brief cool down Tuesday. The next big cool-down probably won’t come until closer to next weekend.
