Temperatures to warm up with sunshine on Monday

PITTSBURGH — You’ll need your sunglasses and your jacket on this bright but chilly afternoon, highs will reach the low 40s. Expect a few more clouds tonight with a slight chance of a few sprinkles or flurries late overnight. Lows will drop to the freezing mark.

Tuesday will start cold with more clouds; sunshine breaks through in the afternoon with warmer air ahead of the next system. High temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will be around 60 degrees. Rain will develop late Tuesday night and push in for the morning commute on Wednesday, rainfall could reach a quarter inch with this first round of rain. Then clouds will mix with some sun around midday with gusty wind and warm temperatures. This brief clearing may allow the chance for thunderstorm development in the afternoon hours. Make sure to check back on the forecast for the middle part of the week as we get closer to Wednesday.

Colder air rushes in behind this system at night that will change leftover rain showers to snow showers into Thursday morning. Temperatures will stay steady in the mid 30s Thursday.
