PITTSBURGH — Saturday will be the pick of the weekend, so enjoy some time outdoors. Sunshine will slowly fade through the day as clouds move in ahead of the next system which is set to bring showers back to the area Sunday.
A stray shower is possible closer to midnight Saturday, but the best chance of rain will be early Sunday and then again off and on through the afternoon. Right now, the early round of showers may be mainly north of Pittsburgh, but through the day scattered showers and even a gusty storm is in the forecast. Even away from thunderstorms, it will be windy, with gusts of 25-30 mph possible.
While widespread severe weather is not expected, there is a chance that areas south of I-70 could see some stronger storms. Stay with Severe Weather Team 11 for the latest updates as you make your weekend plans.
