Scattered snow showers could leave roads slick Tuesday

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

PITTSBURGH — Scattered snow showers could leave roads slick from the mid-morning through the evening on Tuesday, so you may want to check the forecast before leaving the house.

A light coating to around one inch of snow is possible from Pittsburgh south with several inches expected south of I-70 and into the higher elevations of Westmoreland and Fayette counties where a Winter Weather Advisory continues through early Wednesday morning.

Another fast-moving system will bring rain and a wintry mix to the area Wednesday afternoon through Thursday, with freezing rain possible north of Rt 422 in Butler County. From Pittsburgh south temperatures will be warm enough for rain — but check the forecast often for any changes. A shift in the storm track could bring colder temperatures to the area with more widespread icing issues.
