Woman shot, killed in Perry South

PITTSBURGH — A woman was shot and killed in Perry South over the weekend.

Pittsburgh police said emergency units were called to Hawkins Avenue just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

First responders found a woman who had been shot in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Feb. 7, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Taja Emmalee Griggs of Perry South.

The investigation is ongoing.
