PITTSBURGH — A woman is facing charges for a deadly crash in Downtown Pittsburgh in July.

The crash happened at the intersection of Grant Street and Boulevard of the Allies around 8:45 a.m. on July 14. Court documents state a Ford F150 driving on Boulevard of the Allies hit a motorcycle traveling on Grant Street in the intersection of the two roadways.

The motorcyclist, identified as James Christopher, 67, died of his injuries hours after the crash.

The driver of the truck, Amy Robinson, 46, of Waynesburg, was charged in the crash on Tuesday.

Court documents state Robinson had two girls in the truck when she ran the red light at the intersection and drove into the motorcycle driven by Christopher.

On the day of the crash, Robinson told police that she had the green light and didn’t see Christopher coming. Investigators used surveillance cameras near the intersection to determine that Robinson ran a red light. They also used data from the truck to determine that while Robinson wasn’t speeding, she was steadily accelerating while approaching the red light, and was even accelerating in the five seconds before the crash.

Court documents allege Robinson’s failure to stop also endangered her two passengers.

Charges filed against Robinson include homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.
