PENN HILLS, Pa. — UPDATE: Duquesne Light Company is no longer showing active power outages in Penn Hills.
A vehicle crashed into a pole in Penn Hills, causing an hours-long power outage on Sunday.
Members of the Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company said a vehicle crashed near the area of Frankstown Road and Texas Street at 3:03 a.m.
Firefighters said the vehicle ended up on its side, coming to rest at the intersection of Frankstown Road and Eymard Street.
The driver was still trapped in the vehicle while wires lay across the road.
Firefighters told Channel 11 that the driver’s status is currently unknown.
Duquesne Light Company is working to make repairs in the area. At least 215 customers are without power, but electricity is expected to be restored between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., firefighters say.
Drivers are asked to avoid Frankstown Road between Rastwood and Woods Roads as those repairs are made.
