PITTSBURGH — UPMC Children’s Hospital celebrated the fifth anniversary of its “Dream Big Studio.”
The studio helps patients create their own TV shows and radio programs.
The products are shown throughout the hospital.
Hospital workers hope it helps educate kids, even while they are sick, and gives them a chance to be themselves.
“To watch the joy and excitement and to see their bodies just relax and feel comfortable and smile on camera, and then to hear them rave about how much fun and excitement they had after the show is over is very fulfilling,” said Child Life Special Coordinator Kristin Hooper.
To celebrate the studio’s anniversary, UPMC held a birthday party. Patients who came to the party got to enjoy a fun day of crafts, games and prizes.
