PITTSBURGH — More clouds this evening, a shift in winds aloft brings flurries to the area and light scattered snow showers north of Rt 422 where a few slick spots could develop tonight.
Clouds and sun Monday with highs back near the freezing mark, early morning wind chills will be in the teens and then mid-20s later in the afternoon. Again a few flurries are possible, and light scattered snow showers north of Pittsburgh are possible at night where a few slick spots could develop into Tuesday morning.
The next system will bring strong wind gusts starting Wednesday and will continue Thursday, gusts over 30 mph are possible at times especially Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Temperatures will be just above freezing with the chance of snow and rain showers mixing together Wednesday evening switching over to widespread snow showers overnight into Thursday morning. Snow showers during this timeframe could bring minor snowfall totals to the area and impact road conditions for some Thursday morning. This system will move through quickly wrapping up most snow shower activity by Thursday afternoon with much colder air behind it, wind chills will likely drop to the single digits by early Friday morning. There will be a wind switch out of the northwest Friday which will help bring lake effect snow showers in our area Friday night.
