Tanker truck flips onto side, shuts down southbound Route 28 in Sharpsburg

SHARPSBURG, Pa. — Southbound Route 28 is shut down in Sharpsburg after a tanker truck flipped onto its side.

PennDOT’s 511 Map shows the southbound lanes of the roadway are closed near the intersection with Route 8.

A photo sent to Channel 11 shows a tanker truck flipped on its side, with fluid leaking from it.

The spilled liquid pooled on the roadway and a photo sent to Channel 11 shows the efforts of first responders to absorb it.
