Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens was penalized several times for his play during the 2024 season, but he’s been awarded for exactly that in the team’s wild-card loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Pickens has been named the 2024 Week 19 NFL Way to Play award-winner.
According to the NFL’s website, the NFL Way to Play award is given to one player every week of the NFL regular season and playoffs “for their excellent playing technique.”
It’s not the type of award many would have likely predicted Pickens to receive following yet another loud season, but the recognition is for his impressive touchdown catch against the Ravens.
