MUNHALL, Pa. — The Steel Valley School District is operating on a 2-hour delay Monday after it received an anonymous threat.
Superintendent Bryan Macuga said that the Munhall Police Department launched an investigation. In addition, the district conducted a thorough security sweep of all district buildings.
Police said that there is no immediate threat to students and staff.
The district said classes will be held as normal following the delay. Out of an abundance of caution, students and staff may see police officers throughout the day as the district continues to work with Munhall police.
“The safety and security of our students and staff will always be our top priority. Thank you to the Munhall Police for their response and to our students, staff, and families for your patience and understanding,” Macuga said in a statement to the district.
The nature of the threat has not yet been released.
