The staff and patrons of Jailhouse Saloon, a bar in town, knew him best as “Monty.”
They remembered him with a display of photos, flowers and a Puerto Rican flag.
The owners said he was a regular there and hosted a special happy hour in his honor. The proceeds from the event will benefit his family.
A GoFundMe campaign has also been set up to support them.
