“I can’t even fathom what could have taken place. If it was personal, for somebody to brazen enough to go kill my daddy in broad daylight,” said Raymond Freeman who is the victim’s son.

Freeman is looking for answers. His father was 70-year-old Raymond Sims, who was shot and killed while driving his SUV in East Liberty over the weekend.

Police said he was driving his jitney with a passenger in the front seat. That is when a man came up firing through the window shooting and killing Sims.

“He didn’t get himself involved in unnecessary confrontations, he came and worked, did his jitney thing, and goes to the mall, and goes home. I have never seen my daddy outside after 10 o’clock,” Freeman said.

While Freeman can’t figure out why someone would target his father, police are looking for that suspect who was dressed in all black. The passenger was able to get away safely but has not been in contact with police.

As for now, detectives are relying on the cameras in the area to give them some answers as the investigation continues.
