PITTSBURGH — We’ll see two waves of snow showers over the next 24 hours with most of the steadier snow south of Pittsburgh.
The first wave rides through late this morning into the afternoon. Areas near the city could see some snow, but it won’t stick much until you get south of I-70 where an inch or so of snow is possible.
The second wave comes through late tonight and will be mostly south of Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh could pick up a light coating. Areas along and south of I-70 could see another inch or so. The mountains of West Virginia and Maryland can expect to see several inches of snow.
The track of this system may change as this system develops. Make sure to check in ahead of the chance for snow on Tuesday.
A third system arrives late Wednesday into Thursday and will bring a mixed bag of precipitation into the area with icing a concern again for areas north of Pittsburgh and in the mountains. Severe Weather Team 11 will be honing in on the exact locations expected to be impacted in the coming days.
