A Learjet 55 crashed in Northeast Philadelphia near the Roosevelt Mall at around 6:30 p.m. after leaving Northeast Philadelphia Airport.

The FAA said the flight was heading for Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri. United States Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy said there were reportedly six people on board.

A girl who was returning to Mexico after receiving treatment for a life-threatening illness in the U.S. was among the six people on board the flight, officials confirmed with NBC News.

The City of Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management is urging residents to avoid the area. Cottman Avenue between the Roosevelt Boulevard and Bustleton Avenue and outer southbound lanes of the Boulevard are closed.

President Donald Trump issued the following statement on Truth Social:

So sad to see the plane go down in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More innocent souls lost. Our people are totally engaged. First Responders are already being given credit for doing a great job. More to follow. God Bless you all.
