PITTSBURGH — A box truck got stuck in a sinkhole in Pittsburgh’s Garfield neighborhood Thursday.
Allegheny County dispatchers said crews were called to the 500 block of Dearborn Street just after 4 p.m.
Our crew at the scene saw the front left tire of a box truck swallowed by a sinkhole in the road.
The driver of the box truck told Channel 11 she drove all the way from Texas and was two miles from her destination.
Pittsburgh Water said that there was a water main break on North Evaline Street between Dearborn and Gem Way earlier in the day. Additionally, there was a break in the same location on Sunday.
The water company said the recent rainfall and the new leak may have been contributing factors leading to the sinkhole.
