PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Riverhounds have announced a new game-changing partnership for children in the area.

The Boys and Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania will work with the Riverhounds Soccer Club and Pittsburgh Soccer in the Community to create an enhanced soccer program for youth in the region. Organizers want to create a space for young players to enjoy soccer and grow through it.

“Our partnership with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Pittsburgh Soccer in the Community reflects our shared commitment to empowering youth through teamwork, discipline, and fun,” said Chris Watts, President & CEO of BGCWPA. “We’re excited to offer this innovative program that helps kids not only grow as soccer players but also as individuals.”

Coaches from the Riverhounds and Pittsburgh Soccer in the Community will come together to support the young athletes at the Estelle S. Campbell Clubhouse on Butler Street in Lawrenceville. The organizations held a kickoff event there on Tuesday.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club and Pittsburgh Soccer in the Community,” said Dan Visser, Riverhounds Sporting Director. “This collaboration aims to make soccer accessible to every aspiring player in Pittsburgh, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to play the beautiful game.”

Ultimately, the goal is to spread the initiative into local communities by introducing clinics to physical education classes in the Pittsburgh area.
