PITTSBURGH — On the third day of trial for the man accused of killing his Uber driver in 2022, showed a surveillance video and detailed their efforts to find it.
Prosecutors also showed videos of who they say is Calvin Crew driving Christina Spicuzza’s car throughout Allegheny County.
In addition to the video, they showed maps showcasing the routes he took through East End neighborhoods before eventually parking the car in Pitcairn and leaving it there.
While that video showed Crew’s alleged whereabouts after he’s accused of killing Spicuzza, the video the jury will see on Thursday is one of the prosecution’s key pieces of evidence: the dash cam video.
From the moment investigators realized there was a missing dash camera from inside Christina Spicuzza’s car, they started searching for it — since it could hold the answer to what exactly happened the night she was murdered.
For days, investigators say they retraced Crew’s steps and went to Spicuzza’s last “drop off” request, which was an abandoned house in the East Hills. There, they found their biggest piece of evidence, the dashcam that was running inside of her car.
The video shows some of Christina’s last moments.
You can see her driving the Uber and a man who police say is Crew sitting in the back seat on the passenger side. The video shows the man inching closer, then pressing a gun to the back of her head.
The recording also picks up the chilling conversation between the two...
“Keep driving.”
“I’m sorry.”
“You’ve got to be joking. What are you doing?”
“Keep driving.”
“I got a family what are you doing?”
“I got a family too now keep driving.”
That’s when the man grabs the camera, and the recording stops.
From there, police say Crew took her to the woods in Monroeville, shot her, and left her body there.
There is a chance the prosecution may rest their case on Thursday, as they only have eight more witnesses to take the stand,
Then, Crew’s defense team will make their case.
