Man in custody after hours-long SWAT situation in Tarentum

TARENTUM, Pa. — A man is in custody after an hours-long SWAT situation in Tarentum.

Allegheny County dispatchers said police were called to the 600 block of East 8th Avenue at 2:25 p.m.

Police said the situation began when a man fired a gun in the backyard following an argument with his roommate.

Allegheny County Police said their SWAT team was called when the man barricaded himself inside the house.

They were able to get inside at around 5:30 p.m. The man was taken into custody without further incident.
