MONESSEN, Pa. — A woman was shot in Monsessen early Thursday morning.
Authorities said the shooting happened outside of a private club in the 900 block of Knox Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
A 23-year-old woman was shot in the wrist and flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital after initially being taken to an area hospital. The victim is expected to survive and her injuries are considered non-life threatening.
As of now, no one has been taken into custody and no criminal charges have been filed. Authorities said they do not believe there is any threat to the public.
Monessesn Police and County Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
