PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Regional Transit riders now have a new option to make payments at the Downtown Service Center.

PRT said the center on Smithfield Street will now accept contactless mobile payments. Tickets and passes can be bought on smartphones through Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

“We’re committed to improving the customer experience and making public transit easier and more accessible for everyone,” said PRT CEO Katharine Kelleman. “By adding mobile payment options, we’re meeting riders where they are and embracing modern technology to streamline the ticketing process.”

The PRT Downtown Service Center is open on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
