PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Police say people in the area are receiving calls from their stations but say their officers are not the ones dialing them.
Officers issued an alert about a possible “spoofing” scam being reported around the area.
A spoofing scam is when a call appears to be from one location and is actually from another.
In this particular case, calls are coming from the Pittsburgh Police Zone 2 station.
Pittsburgh Police remind the public that their officers will always leave a message if there is a true emergency.
