PITTSBURGH — Primanti Bros surprised diners with iconic Pittsburgh mascots Saturday to celebrate the return of a fan-favorite sandwich.
The Pirates Pierogies stopped by a few restaurants, meeting with diners and helping the Pittsburgh-based sandwich chain announce the return of the Polish Hill sandwich.
What makes the Polish Hill sandwich unique compared to other Primanti Bros. creations? Instead of being loaded with french fries — it’s stacked with Mrs. T’s Pierogies.
“I think people in Pittsburgh love the pierogies, we love the pierogies, and we’re just here to kind of celebrate the partnership with Mrs. T’s and have a little fun,” said Ryan Wilkinson.
Wilkinson said this sandwich is an updated version of one of the restaurant’s most popular releases back in 2018. In addition to the cheddar pierogies, the sandwich features two links of kielbasa, swiss cheese, coleslaw, caramelized onions, tomato and brew-pub mustard loaded onto fresh Italian bread.
The Polish Hill Sandwich will be available for a limited time.
