Penguins recall Friedman, put Bonino on LTI list

NEW YORK — The Pittsburgh Penguins have brought up defenseman Mark Friedman from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre on an emergency recall.

They also placed center Nick Bonino, who is recovering from a lacerated kidney suffered March 9, on the Long-Term Injured list.

Bonino will have to sit out at least 10 games and 24 days. The Penguins’ game against the New York Rangers tonight at 8:08 p.m. at Madison Square Garden will be the fifth he has missed since being injured.
