Nearly 300 power outages remain after pocket of storms hit local counties

The number of power outages left in the area has dropped significantly since a pocket of storms led to multiple tornado warnings in local communities.

At this time, West Penn Power shows fewer than 100 outages in all local communities. The most noteworthy are in Westmoreland County, where 78 power outages remain and in Washington County, where 49 remain.

Duquesne Light Company shows only four outages left in Allegheny County. The number of outages in Beaver County has gone up, with 168 power outages showing there.


Over 1,000 people are without power as severe weather has hit the Southwestern Pennsylvania area.

West Penn Power reports 1,313 power outages in Pennsylvania.

Of those, local counties report:

  • Allegheny County - 10 power outages
  • Butler County - 388 power outages
  • Fayette County - 358 power outages
  • Indiana County - 40 power outages
  • Washington County - 141 power outages
  • Westmoreland County - 107 power outages
