Oak Hill Post in Brookline closes doors

PITTSBURGH — Brookline restaurant Oak Hill Post has closed its doors.

The restaurant first began as a pop-up called Menuette, backed by chef Christian Schulz and partner Rebecca Nicholson, first serving meals out of the Korner Pub and then for other local spots, including Hitchiker Brewing Co.’s Mount Lebanon tap room and 802 Bean Co. In March of 2020, the duo signed a lease for the 600 Brookline Boulevard space to give Menuette a permanent home, a signing day that was of course quickly followed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Alongside, the pandemic, the duo pivoted the concept to the Oak Hill Post, switching dinner service dishes to sandwiches, first solely as a take-out space due to Covid restrictions and then as a diner with counter service. In 2024, the restaurant made some changes, re-embracing dinner service, adjusting its breakfast offerings and closing down the counter. Now closing more than the counter, the restaurant offered its last dinner service on Saturday, January 25, although the duo have not completely ruled out the possibility of more pop-ups.
