The shooting happened between the entrance to the mall and Dick’s House of Sport around 8 p.m. on Sept. 30. One teen was shot in the stomach and rushed to the hospital.

Allegheny County’s District Attorney shared the surveillance video with Channel 11.

In the video, a group of young men can be seen running around out front. One even puts his hands in the air at one point. A moment later, you can see the flash as a gun is fired.

Police say three teens fired guns that evening.

We showed the video to mall shoppers on Thursday. Many were stunned by how close the shooting happened to the building.

“We take our kid up there all the time. He likes watching the kids climb the new wall they put in,” said local father Justin Yeckel. He said of the shooting, “As a parent, it’s very scary.”

“It’s scary because those are places you take your kids all the time,” Yeckel said. “You should feel safe taking your family there to get sports things.”
