MCKEESPORT, Pa. — The McKeesport Housing Authority says a man threw two kittens from his truck outside one of their buildings on Friday.
“He just pulls around to the building, pops the trunk and goes back there and throws them out into the ground and off he goes like nobody’s business,” said Diane Raible, director of the McKeesport Housing Authority.
Raible said a resident in the building saw the incident and called the offices.
“Had someone not been paying attention down there, they would have never made it,” said Raible.
Raible said the kittens are doing well and there is already interest in their adoption.
“These kittens were clearly socialized, clearly loved. They appeared to be in good health. Why would you just throw them out?” said Raible. “It’s terrible. Cases of animal abuse are on the rise. I think the consequences for doing such things need to really increase so this stops”
The housing authority shared the video to Facebook in the hopes someone might recognize and be able to identify the man.
“I can’t believe anyone would do that. That’s not right. If you can’t take care of your animals, you shouldn’t get them,” said Penny Greig, who lives in the Steelview Manor Apartments where this incident allegedly occurred.
If you recognize the man, the McKeesport Housing Authority is asking you to reach them at (412) 673-6942.
