PENN HILLS, Pa. — A man was shot and killed after an argument near a car wash in Penn Hills.
The Allegheny County Police Department says 911 officials were notified of a shooting on the 11000 block of Frankstown Road at 6:11 p.m.
“A Penn Hills officer was nearby and heard gunshots,” Lt. Nando Costa said. “He approached the area of Frankstown Road and Duff Road and was flagged down. They stated that an individual was shot.”
First responders found a man shot. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Preliminary information from ACPD’s investigation shows the victim came to a business near the intersection of Frankstown Road and Duff Road, then got into an argument with the business owners. That’s when investigators say the man was shot.
Channel 11 saw Allegheny County Detectives hold witnesses for over three hours.
“I asked if they arrested him or apprehended the shooter and they said ‘no, he is dead,’” said Jeffrey Spengler, who told Channel 11 that he is the property manager for three buildings off of Frankstown Road.
Spengler said his tenant witnessed everything.
“He said there was some shouting and yelling that took place at the car wash behind me. At that point, maybe 15 or 20 gunshots went off,” he said.
An ACPD official says this shooting is not connected to a deadly shooting on Frankstown Road on Sunday.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
