PITTSBURGH — An investigation is underway into an overnight shooting in Downtown Pittsburgh.
A police spokesperson says around 2:30 a.m., an officer working on Ninth Street downtown was flagged down by some reporting a possible shooting victim found outside.
Officers found an unconscious man on the ground near the intersection of Ninth and Penn shot in the arm. They applied a tourniquet to the wound, and then medics took him to a hospital in critical condition.
The spokesperson says the Mobile Crime Unit processed the scene for evidence and Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
