Man dead after officer-involved shooting in Fayette County

REDSTONE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Redstone Township.

A Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson said the Redstone Township Police Department responded to a Lyndale Road home around 9 p.m. Tuesday to check on a reportedly suicidal man.

Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele tells Channel 11 that the man was shot by police.

The PSP spokesperson says the man was treated by medics but died of his injuries on scene. He’s been identified by the Fayette County Coroner as Christopher Hackney, 27.
