PITTSBURGH, Pa. — A man is dead after being hit by a box truck near UPMC Mercy Hospital in Uptown.
The crash happened shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday morning at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Pride Street.
Police said the early investigation indicates the victim was stumbling along the sidewalk before falling into the roadway.
The driver of the box truck stayed on the scene and was “highly cooperative,” police said.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Jeremy Daneille Leval, 48.
Collision Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate.
