DONORA, Pa. — Mark Schneider, 67, was arrested this week and charged with a felony after police say he harassed a teenage girl as she was walking home from school.
According to surveillance camera captured the suspect’s car, and license plate, and recorded when he approached the young girl.
Channel 11 News spoke with the victim on Friday afternoon she told us the man offered her money for oral sex and attempted to lure her towards his vehicle. We are not using her name to protect her privacy.
“He said do you want to make a quick few dollars, and I said no thank you,” the victim told Channel 11 News this afternoon.
She continued, “He stopped his car, and he was talking low trying to get me to come closer to his car, and I was scared and upset because I didn’t know what was going on.”
According to court documents on Tuesday Schneider spotted the 15-year-old girl walking alone along McKean Avenue in Donora, Pennsylvania. He then backed his truck up parked alongside her and began telling her she was cute, had nice breasts, and “wanted to play with her.” When the girl declined, he became more forceful and offered her money for oral sex, she again declined.
Once he drove off that’s when the victim quickly found a bystander and asked to use their phone so she could call for help. Her mother, Jessica Jones said she was able to remember a sticker on the truck that read “Goliath” and some other key details.
“She got three letters off of his license plate which was good,” Jones said.
That information along with the surveillance video helped police quickly identify Schneider. Despite an arrest, this mom tells us it doesn’t erase her fears.
“If it was dark I think this would have been a different story,” she said.
As for her daughter, she relives that afternoon walk home and said she is shaken up from the entire ordeal.
“My chest started hurting and my stomach started getting tight because I was afraid. He was talking to me and saying nasty things to me, and he is an old man,” said the victim.
Schneider is in jail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for early next year.
