Man arrested for deadly stabbing of woman near Geneva College

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — A Beaver Falls man was arrested and charged for the deadly stabbing of a woman near Geneva College in January.

Only Channel 11 was there when Tyrik Jones was brought into the police station.

Rebecca Miller, 41, was found with multiple stabs to the neck on a walking trail on a walking trail near the college. She was reported missing two days before she was found after she left home two days prior and didn’t return.

Jones is charged with criminal homicide and two counts related to rape.

Beaver Falls Mayor Kenya Johns released the following statement to Channel 11:

“It was such a tragedy that has happened but I am so thankful to our Chief and our officers for working diligently to crack this case. To the family, may this be the beginning to your healing as I understand far too well what it’s like to lose someone you love. To our community, I thank you for your support and patience as the police worked to solve this case as quickly as possible. Please continue to pray for the family and for justice to prevail.”

Beaver Falls Police Chief David Johnson, the police department, Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible and the Beaver County Detective’s Bureau also extended a thank you to Miller’s family and the Beaver Falls community for their patience and assistance while the incident was being investigated.
