SHENANGO, Pa. — A man is dead after officials said his vehicle collapsed through the ice at the Shenago Reservoir while he was driving on it.
Mercer County Coroner John A. Libonati said Robert Humphrey, 72, of Hermitage, was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. on Sunday following a two-day recovery effort.
Libonati said Humphrey and the vehicle he was in went through the ice on Jan. 31 at the Mahaney Boat Launch near the Shenango Dam.
His cause of death was determined to be asphyxia resulting from aquatic submersion with a manner of death determined to be accidental.
