State police identify motorcycle driver killed in Beaver County crash

CHIPPEWA, Pa. — Two displays of flowers sit at the intersection where a violent crash happened Tuesday night. Family and friends placed them along Constitution Boulevard in Chippewa Township. State police said Brandon Booher, 19, was killed after he crashed his motorcycle into the car of another driver, who was hurt.

Cell phone video shows the moment Booher, the driver of a motorcycle, went through a red light at Constitution Boulevard and Chippewa Town Center, according to state police. People familiar with the area told Channel 11 it’s an intersection that thousands of drivers pass through every day.

“During the day, it’s really busy because of the shopping center and stuff, Walmart…” said Brenda Ketterer of East Palestine, Ohio.

State police say Booher was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit a car coming out of the shopping plaza. Booher was killed.

His family and friends left flowers at the site of the violent crash Wednesday morning, less than 24 hours after it happened. They also picked up pieces of his motorcycle scattered along the busy road.

“It looks like remnants of Brandon’s bike. I just wanted to collect them,” said Emilee Madison, a family friend. “It doesn’t feel real.”

Booher’s death comes just a few years after his older brother, Robbie, passed away, and the family is struggling to come to terms with the fact that both of them are gone.

“I know his mom – nothing meant more to her than her boys, so it was very tragic when Robbie passed away,” Madison said. “He’s with his brother now.”

Family and friends told Channel 11 they send their most sincere apologies and sympathy to the driver of the car hit by Booher. State police identified that driver as Corbin McHale, 27. Booher’s friends say they are praying for his full recovery.

“I know how it seems, but Brandon was a good boy. He wasn’t a bad kid. I know adrenaline made him feel a little bit alive, but in anything, my biggest message is no matter how you’re feeling, no matter what you’re going through, just make sure you’re taking care of yourself, you’re aware of your surroundings,” Madison said.

McHale was taken to Allegheny General Hospital. We’re working to find out how he is doing.
