Large water main break causes road to buckle in Shaler

SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A large water main break in Shaler Township Thursday morning has caused part of the road to buckle.

The Hampton Shaler Water Authority said the break on a 16-inch main at the intersection of Parker Street and Koehler Street happened around 3:45 a.m.

At 3:20 p.m., officials said the roads had reopened to a single lane with alternating traffic.

Several other water main breaks are happening throughout Shaler Township. Officials said this could cause low water pressure and possible outages.

Crews are working to make repairs throughout the area.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
