McKeesport bar permanently closes after 2 people shot inside

McKEESPORT, Pa. — Two people are in the hospital after being shot inside a McKeesport bar on Thursday night.

Allegheny County police say a shooting inside the McKeesport Beer Barrel on Fifth Avenue was reported to 911 at 9:36 p.m.

First responders found a man and a woman who had both been shot. They were taken to area hospitals. As of Friday morning, both victims are in stable condition.

Police tell anyone with information about the incident to call the County Police Tip Line 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

On Friday afternoon, the McKeesport Beer Barrel posted on social media that it would be permanently closing, effective immediately.

The decision to close was voluntary and was made to “help end violence and ensure everyone’s safety,” the post reads.

“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our loyal customers for their continued support and the memorable times we shared over the years,” the post reads.
