PITTSBURGH — After three weeks, the defense and Commonwealth presented their closing arguments in the case of Christian Bey Wednesday morning, turning the case over to the jury. But after about an hour of deliberations, they came back with questions and wanted to look at some video again.

The first video jurors asked to rewatch was surveillance from a city camera on Hermitage Street. In the video, a man wearing all black comes from the direction of the crime scene on Monticello Street just minutes after off-duty officer Calvin Hall was gunned down during a block party.
Jurors also asked to rewatch key video of Bey in the back of a police car during his initial interview. In the video, Bey said he wasn’t sure what time he left the party.

“How did you get to the party? Were you in this car, the car you are driving today?” Detective Edward Fallert asked.
“Yes, I was dropped off, I mean I drove my car. Parked at my mom’s and left with a friend. We went to go have drinks,” Bey said.
Bey later denied knowing anyone with a 45-caliber pistol — or having one himself.
“I probably know I don’t own guns, but I don’t know what type of guns anyone else has. I’m not allowed to be around their guns,” Bey said during the interview.
Jurors also watched two other brief clips of the first responding officer, along with a clip from the nightclub where Bey said he was when the shooting happened.
Bey is facing several charges — the most serious is murder in the first degree.
The jurors will continue their deliberation Thursday morning.
