PITTSBURGH — With a forecasted mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain moving through the region Saturday afternoon, PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission are implementing vehicle restrictions.
The agencies warn that temperatures at or below freezing could result in icy conditions. Crews will actively pre-treat roads where necessary, but salt doesn’t resolve all risks and drivers may still encounter icy spots. Extra caution is encouraged while approaching bridges and highway ramps, since what looks like a wet road may be ice.
