Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh hits capacity, is temporarily unable to take in dogs

Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — The Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh currently cannot accept dog admissions.

That’s because officials say the shelter has reached capacity.

“Our team is working tirelessly to care for the animals currently in our shelter and find them loving homes. We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate this challenging situation,” shelter officials wrote in a post on Facebook.

Anyone with an urgent situation can still reach out to the HARP by calling Pet Helpline at 412-345-0348 and leaving a voicemail, or emailing pethelpline@HumaneAnimalRescue.org. Shelter officials will respond to the messages with alternative resources.

Community members can help HARP by fostering, adopting or donating, shelter officials say.
