ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Several packages full of high-ticket items were stolen out of the back of a UPS truck while deliveries were being made at the Ross Park Mall.
This happened on Wednesday, March 5. Ross Township Police are handling the investigation and say this happened right around lunchtime.
The packages contained items meant for the Apple Store and Gucci.
Julierose Genuari works at the Ross Park Mall and says thieves have become more and more brazen.
“It’s scary because we use that exit and entrance to get into the mall,” Genuari tells Channel 11. “Getting taken advantage of like that and being around that is scary.”
Last Wednesday, Ross Township Police say packages meant for three stores including Apple and Gucci were stolen right out of the back of a UPS truck making a lunchtime delivery.
“I just think it’s sad,” MaryAnn McKegg said. “Just like the pizza delivery drivers when they were targeting them - I agree with you I think it’s just really a shame.”
Ethan Harper shops at the mall with his mom. She took this opportunity to talk to him about the importance of working hard to pay for what he wants.
“They need to get a job instead of trying to steal stuff and rob,” Harper tells Channel 11 News.
Police are now reviewing camera footage to see if they can track down the thief or thieves.
“I would say give the Gucci back!” Genuari added.
We reached out to Simon Properties who owns the Ross Park Mall. We’re still waiting to hear back.
