PITTSBURGH — A firefighter was injured while battling flames at a building on Thursday.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire said they were called to an apartment building on the 2600 block of South 18th Street in the South Side Flats at 10:30 a.m.
When they arrived, flames and smoke were coming from the building’s roof.
The fire was raised to three alarms at 11:30 a.m.
A firefighter injured their ankle and was taken to a hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
Several people live in units inside the building. Officials said the fire started in a lower-level unit but the exact cause has not been determined at this time.
