GLASSPORT, Pa. — UPDATE 1/18/25 3:25 p.m.

A 10-year-old girl with autism who was reported missing out of Glassport was found in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Police said. They said she appears to be safe.


Authorities in Allegheny Couty are asking for help from the public in finding a 10-year-old girl with autism.

Borough officials and police are searching for Laylah Pankins, 10, who has autism and reportedly ran away from her Glassport home on Saturday morning.

Laylah was last seen wearing a hot pink jacket with a fur-lined hood, black pants, ugg style boots and a white backpack.

Borough cameras spotted Laylah at 6th and Monongahela passing the Hot Spot at around 8:30 a.m. She was later seen getting on a PRT bus in McKeesport and got off at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Jumonville Street in Downtown Pittsburgh. She got off the bus at 11:06 a.m., per the Allegheny County Police Department.

ACPD says Laylah was last spotted on the 1900 block of Centre Avenue at 2:13 p.m.

Community members are asked to check their cameras for any sightings of Laylah. If you see her or know where she may be, call 911.
